Client Testimonials

When an emotional chaos engulfs the mind and thoughts spiral down into darkness, it can be impossible to grasp at the rational feelings that appear to lie on the other side. It is terrifying to feel trapped within this world, unable to turn on the light inside your own head. Each day the light becomes a dimmer memory. I felt desperate and exhausted but almost relieved to be so near to giving up and allowing myself to be admitted to a psychiatric hospital where I could let go and allow others to look after me. I must admit though that an important part of me was also determined to give one more therapist a go, hoping that I could maintain my autonomy, get on with my life and most importantly continue to look after my two young children. From where I sit today it surprises me to look back and write this; here and now I am quite simply happier than I have ever been. But this is how I felt six months ago just minutes before my first appointment with a hypnotherapist.

One hour later I emerged from a trance and the light was back on inside my head. I am not saying that I had been miraculously cured, far from it. But I did sense a clarity I had not felt in months; disorganised thoughts rearranged themselves like pieces in a puzzle and the way forward seemed suddenly obvious. I was filled with hope. I phoned my husband immediately as I left the clinic and said “the light is back on”…. after many years of marriage and having held my hand through a few of these depressive episodes, he knew exactly what I meant! In the sessions that followed the talking through of my problems was followed by some time in trance. I found the process surprisingly empowering. I have heard many people comment that they would be “terrified of giving up control” during hypnotherapy. On the contrary having experienced other “talking therapies”, it was under hypnosis that I felt most autonomous. The mind that I was finally surrendering to was my own. Rather than it being the frightening and helpless thing I had imagined, it contained strengths I never believed I possessed.

Very quickly, I was taught self-hypnosis, so that I could put myself into trance in my own space at home. This was yet more independence. For someone who has always been aware and terrified by the spectre of co-dependency, this level of independence was good news and great therapy! I don’t doubt that time and life will bring further crises but I now feel supported from within. I have a new way of seeing and a therapeutic tool that I can use independently and safely.

Testimonial from Mother of a child treated for tics/spasms:
I'm writing to say thank you for the work that you did with my 11 year old son.
We came to see you for hypnotherapy, because, due to various medical problems, he had been teased a lot at school and was dreadfully lacking in confidence, which made him very nervous and twitchy around new people and situations.
We came for 3 sessions and his confidence has improved to such an extent, that he doesn't twitch any more and he is much much happier and at ease with himself. He said 'Hypnotherapy helped me because when I walk past people I don't know; I don't worry or feel shy anymore'.
Thank you so much for your help.

Testimonial from Mother of a fourteen year old child:
My son refused to eat any food except chips and other forms of potatoes since he was seven years old when I separated from his father. I thought with time he will grow out of it but things just got worse.
When my G.P advised that his bones were getting weak and M. found himself that he could not stay in his favourite sports for long hours like his friends, we both agreed to try Hypnotherapy. M. said he wanted to eat now, because he wanted to feel strong and tall and he was ashamed of his height and slim body, but he could not even smell meat or even fruits.
After just two sessions M. came shopping with me for the first ever time and bought roast chicken and wanted to try grapes!! Over the next few months he started eating at table with the family and he was trying a bit of our everyday meal. His confidence in himself also grew and he was smiling more than before. We had in all six sessions with Amreeta. I do not know how it worked but it did work. M. told me about the self-hypnosis he was taught and was practising in his room. He seemed to enjoy that.

Testimonial from Father of fifteen year old son: I am writing to say thank you for helping my son grow over his deep anxiety and worrying tendencies. A. developed into a very worried child after I got divorced and moved with him into my partner’s house. He was seven then but his symptoms developed into anger and aggression at school, that’s when we thought of Hypnotherapy. It’s been six months now, after we last saw you for his fifth session, and I am pleased to say he is happy and very integrated back in school and his favourite sports!!

Testimonial from Lady with driving phobia: After having Multiple Sclerosis for a number of years, then moving down to the South of England to live, because I didn't know how to drive I felt trapped in the house, my husband worked long hours and my daughter was at school all day, life was very lonely for me and I thought I must learn to drive, I managed the learning to drive easily and passed my driving test, then came the problem driving on my own, I was reluctant to do it and would avoid having to do it,
I read on the internet that Hypnosis would be helpful and relaxing, so I thought I would try, as I had to paid that much money learning to drive. I had three sessions with Amreeta and it was the best thing I had ever done, I would like to thank Amreeta and would recommend it to anyone, it helps you to relax and face your problem with confidence. S from Newbury

After having failed several driving tests through anxiety attacks and low self esteem I was in desperation as I really needed a driving licence.

As a last resort I decided to try hypnotherapy so I booked a session with Amreeta.

I have to admit I was quite cynical initially but the results have amazed me. After only three sessions I eventually passed my driving test, which was my ultimate goal. But, to my surprise, it seems my panic attacks have also disappeared as Amreeta taught me self-hypnotherapy and relaxation techniques.

For anyone considering hypnotherapy I would say give Amreeta a call - the results might surprise you too.

The birth of my son was incredible. My labour was drug free and over in 5 hours. I used hypnotherapy throughout the contractions to manage the pain and arrived at the hospital just in time to deliver.

I had a few sessions with Amreeta and practiced self-hypnosis in my own time as taught. Amreeta talked me through my fears of birth and my expectations, she used this information in hypnotherapy to help me visualize my labour, rehearse it in my mind and manage the pain that could be experienced.

Amreeta also worked on what I wanted to happen after the birth, in effect, to recover quickly and enjoy motherhood. I am and would certainly use hypnotherapy again as my experience was so positive

After a good promotion at work, I was under a lot of pressure to present and negoiate with some strong characters. This was very difficult as I lacked the confidence to perform. I called Amreeta to talk about hynoptherapy and decided to give it a go.

In the few sessions that I had, Amreeta taught me relaxation techniques and self-hypnosis and within in a short period of time I was gaining the confidence to control and negoiate properly in my meetings. This has made a significant difference to my performance at work and I am continuing to develop my new skills.

This has been a very positive experience and I would recommend anyone to contact Amreeta to try hypnotherapy.

I have throughout my conscious life struggled to deal with criticism, often reacting with extreme anger and aggression to the slightest provocation, generally when I couldn't get my own way. Whilst I have built myself a successful career, as a senior manager in a large business - it became increasingly clear to me that without understanding and controlling my anger at the age of 39 I wasn't going any further. Furthermore I have children who need a role model to be proud of and a wife who needs more support.

All else having failed, I somewhat skeptically turned to Amreeta and hypnotherapy. I remember telling Amreeta that as a bit of a control freak, I was willing to give it a try, but I didn't believe she could hypnotise me ... and she didn't, she helped me to hypnotise myself, at the first attempt.

Over a course of two sessions I uncovered events from many years ago that were clearly impacting my current emotional responses. I was suddenly able to talk about and confront deep internal emotions I had never been aware of. Over the next few weeks we worked together to deal with the pent-up fear and aggression. I have not felt angry for months, I am now in control and at peace with myself.

My wife and I are visibly more relaxed with each other and work is going great - I feel a have a genuine new outlook on life.
